If we get a close well above 9000 on BSE today, then it could start an uptrend for a very short term. But closing near the low levels of today would be a sign of further weakness. Yet, lighten the short positions or book profits in 50% of the short positions.

World markets would take cue from the trend on DOW today where GM dilemma could take its toll on the markets until resolved. So, it is a moment of uncertainty for today, at least!
